How do I clean my windows after installation?
Wait until the film has fully cured and bonded to the glass—this typically takes 1 to 4 weeks. Clean using a mild soap-and-water solution or an ammonia-free glass cleaner. Use a soft paper towel or microfiber cloth, and avoid any abrasive materials.
Do you install automotive films (car window tinting)?
No. Film 4 Glass specializes exclusively in architectural (flat) window films for residential and commercial properties in the Ottawa area. Our expertise focuses on improving energy efficiency, security, privacy, and aesthetics for homes and businesses. For vehicle installations, we recommend contacting a professional automotive tinting specialist.
Can I remove the film if needed?
Yes. Window film can be removed. Static cling films peel off easily, while adhesive-backed films require more care to avoid damaging the glass during removal.
Is there a film that allows me to see out but prevents others from seeing in?
Yes. This is called a One-Way Mirror Film (also known as Tinted Reflective Film or Daytime Privacy Film). It provides daytime privacy but becomes transparent at night when interior lights are on.
Do you create custom designs?
